21 Day Fix back on promotion this month and I’m crazy excited! If you have no idea what that is or why it would make me so happy, read on my dear friends – this program literally changed my life. I went from being exhausted, stressed, emotions out of control, un-focused and with 30 lbs of baby weight I couldn’t lose to full of energy, excited about my future, emotions stable and positive, lost all my baby weight and in better shape than I was BEFORE kids.
I wasn’t expecting all of this to happen, but it did, and especially now that it’s on sale I feel COMPELLED to share it with anyone who is looking to get their groove back, learn how to eat healthy and to get strong – even if you don’t have much time.
So, without further ado – some frequently asked questions:
What does the 21 Day Fix Challenge Pack include?
The 21 Day Fix includes 2 DVDs with 8 different daily 30 minute at home workouts, an easy to use meal plan booklet, color coded plastic containers for measuring portions and a month supply of Shakeology.
How do the containers work?
The 21 Day Fix meal plan booklet takes you through a series of calculations determining how many of each container you need to eat every day in order to lose weight at a healthy rate (there is also a calculation at the back of the book for when you have reached your goal weight but still want to use the containers to fuel your body properly and maintain).
Once you know how many containers you are to eat, you will need to know what to fill those containers with. The booklet provides options for each one. For example, a Green container is for veggies, and can be filled with Spinach, Kale, Broccoli, Green Beans – and so much more. Eating according to the containers allows anyone (even the pickiest of eaters) to fuel their bodies not just with the right number of calories, but the right types of foods their bodies need.
What equipment will I need for the workouts?
You will need a yoga mat and a set of heavy and light weights. If you haven’t worked out in a while I would suggest starting with 3lb/5lb or 5lb/8lb.
What do I do after 21 Days?
This program was named the 21 Day Fix because it takes 21 days to break bad habits and start new ones. The 21 Day Fix is designed to be a kick start to building healthy habits. Most people do at least 2 to 3 rounds of the 21 Day Fix. After that, most people continue using the containers and portion control as they move on to other workout programs. It something I plan to use for the rest of my life.
Will I have to make 2 different breakfasts/lunches/dinners for me and my family?
No! The beauty of the containers is that you can fill them with whatever you are making for your family! Taco night? no problem, fill your red container with the ground beef (or turkey), the yellow can be a tortilla (or brown rice and black beans) and the green can be filled with spinach and the blue with cheese for a delicious taco salad. I also have TONS of 21 Day Fix approved dinners in the recipe section of my website: www.strongertogetherfp.com and on this blog.
Do I have to drink Shakeology with this program?
You don’t HAVE to, but I highly recommend it. The meal plan – while giving you lots of food and options does not allow for much (if any) sugar. This drastic change in diet (for me at least, I don’t know what your eating habits are, but most americans have quite a bit of refined sugar in their day to day) can cause withdraws and even mood swings. Sugar addiction is no joke people! It’s a real thing. Having Shakeology every day filled me up, reduced my cravings, eased me out of my sugar addiction and made this program do-able – especially at the beginning. Even if it’s not something you continue (although most people do) for the first round of the 21 Day Fix – Shakeology is vital to seeing the best results with this program and setting you up for a lifetime of healthy habits.
I’ve never stuck with any program before – how do I know this will be different?
This is my favorite part! When you start the 21 Day Fix, you aren’t starting it alone. Beachbody has created this network of coaches (of which I am one!) who are passionate about helping others stick with the programs, through the good days and bad. I run closed challenge groups on facebook that provides a community of people going through the program together. I provide coaching, nutrition tips, inspiration and all the help and support you need to stick to this program to the end and make the changes you want in your health.
