PiYo Review

It’s been about 4 weeks since I started Beachbody’s newest workout program PiYo.

To be honest, it’s been a little bit strange for me. I’m not used to doing a workout and not feeling my heart racing out of my chest, sweat dripping all over and feeling like I’m going to throw up half way through the workout.

PiYo IS challenging, but in such a different way than I am used to.

I am NOT flexible, so I was really looking forward to doing more stretching and increasing my flexibility, and I HAVE seen that happen (although I still have a WAYS to go), but up until recently I wasn’t sure how I felt about the program. Then, three things happened that turned me into a MAJOR believer.

1) I took a 1/2 way ‘After’ picture. I’m always amazed at these photos because when I look at myself in the mirror I don’t feel like I’ve progressed THAT much, but seeing the picture from day 1 to day 28 it is CLEAR that my body is being defined with this program.

2) I had a phone call with a dear friend. She was in tears telling me about her chronic back and neck pain, the way she felt because she hasn’t been able to do crunches (too much strain on her neck) or lift weights and is lacking energy and feeling slightly depressed. To be able to tell her that there is a FULL body workout (including ab workouts you can do STANDING) that will be gentle on her body but still give her a GREAT workout and sculpt her body, I mean, I was almost in tears!

3) Woke up this morning feeling sick to my stomach. On top of that, I have gotten, for the first time since getting pregnant with Caleb, a visit from Aunt Flo. To have a workout that I can do, and it feels great and it DOESN’T require me to feel like I wanted to puke at the end (I already felt that way), but still got me sweating, got my muscles working HARD and gave me that incredible post-workout energy and high – I mean, priceless! If this is happening every month, I need something to keep me on track, working out, seeing results and feeling amazing.

So, while I still love my crazy HIGH intensity T25, Insanity and 21 Day Fix workouts, I am falling more and more in LOVE with PiYo.

I run monthly Challenge Groups, where I provide meal plans, recipes, tips, daily encouragement and motivation, if you feel like this kind of group would be helpful to you message me! I would LOVE to talk with you about your goals and help you get there! Or, you can order PiYo through my discount link and be automatically registered for my next group!
