Doing What You Can, When You Can’t Do It All

Hi friends! Welcome to my new blog: Where Life is Simple. I’ve started this blog to explore how we can live life well, even in the midst of crazy schedules and high demands on our time, energy and finances.

As Americans we are constantly dazzled by the bigger, grander and more elaborate of EVERYTHING. Pinterest is especially good at feeding our fascination with the “over the top”. Now, I have no problems with big and bold, but it’s hard to live your life there, and usually those who do, are devoted to being grand in one area only, while neglecting the rest. It’s just not how I want to live my life or sustainable for me.

But I still want to live well. I am certainly a perfectionist and like things done with quality and taste. So how do I do this? How do I live well when I have so much on my plate? I think the answer is to keep it simple. Resist the temptation for more, more, more and think less.

I don’t write this blog pretending to be an expert or have it all together, I’m not and I don’t. I’m just on a journey and I hope you will join me, gain some inspiration and add your own thoughts and tips as we try to do what we can when we can’t do it all.

I hope to explore various topics of life such as: simple meals and meal planning, simplifying wardrobe and defining style, decluttering our lives and saying no to our addiction to ‘stuff’, building meaningful relationships and having a social life in a way that isn’t overwhelming, throwing parties and events that are tasteful but do-able, and so much more!

Some of us will look at things like decluttering a room and get so overwhelmed we just shut the door or close our eyes and walk away. Others of us will get so excited and overly ambitious and plan an elaborate, over the top party, only to get burnt out and hardly have the sanity to actually enjoy it once it’s here. This is a place for all of us to take a deep breath, realize it can be done, simply and it can be done well. So join me, Where Life is Simple.
