I used to be embarrassed to go to the gym. I didn’t know what to do, and I was so out of shape I certainly didn’t want anyone watching me ‘try’ to do anything. I thought maybe if I just did some of those workout “challenges” I saw all over pinterest it would be better, but looking at a sheet of paper telling me to do 20 squats was entirely un-motivational. My Dad and brother were doing P90X – are you kidding me? I couldn’t even do 2 pushups.
I knew I needed to start exercising but I couldn’t figure out how. Walking around my neighborhood was ok, but I knew it wouldn’t really get me to my goal.

What’s P90? It’s a home workout program that takes the eXtreme out of P90X and is that ‘first step’ in fitness, that up until now has been missing. It’s something that you can do at your own level – as basic as that level might be – but if done consistently, will get you to your goal!
Honestly, the thing that got me taking my first step in my fitness journey was this app called Couch to 5K and the reason why it was so effective for me is because it was such a gradual progression. It took me where I was (only able to run for 30 second increments) and little by little took me further and further.
I would encourage you – no matter where you are at – don’t give up on yourself!! Start small, take a chance, get P90, download the Couch to 5K app – and GET A SUPPORT GROUP. A long journey can be intimidating, but if you focus on step 1 and then step 2, before you know it, you are miles down the road!
